My messy studio, as it is right now. As I was walking past my husband I asked him if I should clean my studio or blog. He said: "Blog". So here I am.

Tomorrow should be a good day as a new batch of roses and a pack of large, 36X48 canvases is supposed to arrive in the mail. If you follow me on Facebook, you already know that I have two projects going on side by side (aside from project "baby Katya"). One of them is painting 30 painting of roses and another one, working on a series of semi-representational paintings, based on one of the paintings I posted here earlier.

The other day, an interesting thing happened to me. I emailed several people I knew with art related questions. In addition to the responses I got, I also contacted an art consultant and had a 1 hr phone conversation with him. Frankly, I knew little about the guy, Alan Bamberger, (www.artbusiness.com), but was impressed with a lot of helpful articles for both artists and collectors on his website. I don't want to share the advice just yet, but calling him was the best thing I could have done at the moment.

Now, refocused and excited, I am hoping for a productive day tomorrow.

This is a messy studio???

I wonder what mine is called...

30 rose paintings. How ambitious! Your studio will smell wonderful for a long time. Its a good way to keep yourself surrounded with the lovely blossoms...

Can't wait to see them all.

Thanks Susan! Roses are so challenging, and I decided to just paint as many as I can. First it was going to be 100, but I figured with a small baby its a little TOO ambitious!
